The ASTRO A40 TR Headset + MixAmp Pro TR for Xbox, part number 939-001658, UPC 097855146922, is the fourth-generation (Gen 4) pack released in 2019, in black with red accents. The Gen 4 pack has been discontinued. The MixAmp Pro TR in this box is the Xbox version: it works with Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One and PC or Mac, and it does not work with PlayStation consoles. A switch on its rear panel selects Xbox or PC mode. The A40 TR is a wired, open-back headset with 40 mm dynamic drivers, a 20 to 20,000 Hz frequency response, 48 ohm impedance and a 6 mm unidirectional boom microphone that mounts on either side. It weighs 369 g without the cable and connects to the MixAmp through the 2.0 m A40 inline mute cable with a 3.5 mm plug. The MixAmp Pro TR handles game:voice balance and Windows Sonic for Headphones, with game audio at 48 kHz / 16 bit. On Xbox and Windows it also supports Dolby Atmos for Headphones, which needs the Dolby Access app and a Dolby Atmos licence. ASTRO lists a Dolby Atmos for Headphones code in the box. Redemption is through Dolby on its terms, and we can't confirm that a code in an older pack is still redeemable. It has an optical (TOSLINK) input, an aux port, a stream line out and two daisy chain ports. It draws power and USB audio (USB 2.0 Full Speed, USB Audio 1.0) through its micro-USB cable and has no battery. The MixAmp weighs 296 g and measures 13.7 x 8 x 3.8 cm.
