Pokémon TCG Scarlet & Violet Base Set: Every Card, Prices & Products

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet released on March 31, 2023. Its card list runs to 258: a 198-card main set plus secrets numbered 199 to 258. It brings Pokémon ex back as a new take on a returning game mechanic, with the Legendary Pokémon Koraidon and Miraidon among them, and introduces Tera Pokémon ex with a crystalline appearance. Gardevoir ex 245/198, a Special Illustration Rare, is US$68. Below: the rarity bands, the chase cards and every product with its market price.

What changed with this set

The Pokémon Company set out the changes on December 9, 2022. The classic yellow border moved to the gray border used in Japan, which frames the artwork in its originally intended border. The Trainer subcategory moved to the top left of Trainer cards. Energy cards gained their name at the top with a Basic Energy or Special Energy tag, and the Energy symbol moved to the bottom right. Expansion symbols gave way to expansion codes on the bottom left of each card.

Packs changed too. Every booster pack carries three guaranteed foil cards, and every card of rare or higher is foil. The Elite Trainer Box gained an extra booster pack and a full-art promo card.

Pokémon ex carry a risk the rulebook spells out: when one of your Pokémon ex is Knocked Out, your opponent takes 2 Prize cards. The ex is part of the name, so Miraidon and Miraidon ex have different names and a deck can hold up to 4 of each. Pokémon ex and Pokémon-EX are not the same name either.

Tera Pokémon ex debut with them. They have a crystalline appearance and an effect that prevents all attack damage done to them while they are on your Bench. It covers all attacks, both yours and your opponent's. Like other Pokémon ex, a Tera Pokémon ex that is Knocked Out gives up 2 Prize cards.

The 258 cards

The official card list numbers the secrets in four blocks. Illustration Rares run 199 to 222 and Ultra Rares 223 to 242. Special Illustration Rares run 243 to 252, and the Hyper Rares close the list at 253 to 258: Miraidon ex, Koraidon ex, Nest Ball, Rare Candy and two Basic Energy.

Several names repeat, so the number is what tells cards apart. Miraidon 080 and Miraidon ex 081 are different cards, and Miraidon ex also appears at 227, 244 and 253. Koraidon 124 and Koraidon ex 125 differ the same way, with Koraidon ex at 231, 247 and 254. Professor's Research (Professor Sada) 189 and Professor's Research (Professor Turo) 190 are two cards, with Ultra Rares at 240 and 241.

Rotation and Standard play

Standard legality follows the regulation mark printed on each card, whatever set it came from. Cards with the G mark left the Standard format on March 26, 2026 on Pokémon TCG Live and on April 10, 2026 at in-person events. Expanded still covers the Black & White Series onward.
