Cheap Grading Is Gone: PSA's Value-Tier Shutdown and Where Pokémon Collectors Should Send Cards Now
PSA paused its four Value grading tiers in June 2026 with its backlog near 10 million cards. The guide compares PSA, CGC and TAG prices.
On June 2, 2026, PSA paused all four of its Value grading tiers to new submissions: Value Bulk, Value, Value Plus and Value Max. PSA said its backlog was approaching 10 million cards and set a goal of 5 million before reopening them. Its cheapest open tier is now Standard, at 90 to 100 business days. Below: how PSA's prices moved over the past year, what each grader charges for its cheapest open tier, and where a Pokémon collector can send cards.

The pause followed a year of higher prices and longer turnarounds:
- First increase: Value Bulk, Value and Value Plus rise, and Value Bulk's turnaround stretches to 95 business days.
- Second increase, across all four Value tiers and Regular, with longer turnarounds.
- PSA announces an 18-month investment and 1,000 new team members, lengthens turnarounds on every tier (Value Bulk to 140 to 160 business days) and raises Super Express.
- All four Value tiers paused to new submissions, with the backlog approaching 10 million cards; Regular turnaround extends to 40 to 50 days.
- A new lineup: Standard and Priority replace Regular as the entry tiers, and Express rises. The Value tiers stay paused.
