Pokémon TCG Surging Sparks: All 252 Cards, Pikachu ex Prices & Products

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Surging Sparks released November 8, 2024 with 252 cards: 191 main set plus 61 secret rares numbered 192 to 252. Its most valuable card is Pikachu ex 238/191, the Special Illustration Rare by GIDORA, at CA$459.95 on Quaza Track on July 25, 2026 — and the expansion prints a card called Pikachu ex four times, which is where most pricing mistakes in this set begin. Four cards are called Pikachu ex

Surging Sparks prints Pikachu ex four times and the four are not interchangeable: a Double Rare at 057/191 by aky CG Works, a full-art Ultra Rare at 219/191 by the same studio, the Special Illustration Rare at 238/191 by GIDORA and the gold etched Hyper Rare at 247/191, aky CG Works again. Alolan Exeggutor ex gets the same treatment at 133, 225, 242 and 248.

Quaza Track prices 238/191 at CA$459.95 and 247/191 at CA$132.67 on July 25, 2026, a 3.47× gap between cards that share a name, an artwork subject and a card text. Two independent USD bases agree on the shape: TCGplayer market prices put the pair at 3.40× (US$324.99 against US$95.59), aggregated eBay sold values at 3.55×, both observed July 25, 2026. The gold card is the rarer pull and the cheaper card. One published 2026 price guide inverts the pair outright and another quotes a Pikachu ex price with no collector number at all, so an unnumbered figure is wrong whichever card it means.

The card, read off the printed English text rather than a database field: Basic, Lightning, Tera, 200 HP — not the 220 that circulates in some databases. Resolute Heart leaves it on 10 HP rather than Knocked Out if it was at full HP; Topaz Bolt does 300 damage for three Energy, discarding three. The Tera rule reads: "As long as this Pokémon is on your Bench, prevent all damage done to this Pokémon by attacks (both yours and your opponent's)." Bench only, and damage from attacks only — not damage counters placed by other effects.

The set credits 145 distinct illustrators, 5ban Graphics most prolific at 14 cards.

How 252 cards are put together

The main set is 89 Commons, 59 Uncommons, 17 Rares, 18 Double Rares and eight ACE SPEC cards. The 61 secrets run in four blocks: 23 Illustration Rares (192–214), 21 full-art Ultra Rares (215–235, fourteen Pokémon ex and seven Supporters), 11 Special Illustration Rares (236–246) and six gold etched Hyper Rares (247–252). Every figure in The Pokémon Company's own composition copy reconciles against the card list; the Ultra Rare count is not in that copy and comes from the card-by-card enumeration. At 252 cards this is the fourth-largest English set of the era, behind Paldea Evolved, Paradox Rift and the base set — not the largest.

The 18 Double Rares split evenly: nine Tera Pokémon ex — Ceruledge ex 036, Pikachu ex 057, Sylveon ex 086, Palossand ex 091, Flygon ex 106, Hydreigon ex 119, Alolan Exeggutor ex 133, Tatsugiri ex 142, Cyclizar ex 159 — and nine ordinary ex. Marketing copy calls the first group Stellar Tera Pokémon ex; the printed cards say only Tera, beside a normal type symbol. The mechanic did not start here: it debuted one set earlier in Stellar Crown on September 13, 2024.

Eight ACE SPEC cards is a heavy allocation — Prismatic Evolutions, ten weeks later, has six — and the one-per-deck limit covers all ACE SPECs combined, so the eight compete with each other: Amulet of Hope 162, Brilliant Blender 164, Energy Search Pro 176, Megaton Blower 182, Miracle Headset 183, Precious Trolley 185, Scramble Switch 186 and Enriching Energy 191, a Special Energy at ACE SPEC rarity closing the main set. Precious Trolley is filed as an Uncommon in one widely used database; the official count of eight says otherwise.

All dates 2024. *The three evolution-line cards in each Premium Checklane Blister could not be identified from any source. The MSRP record is thinner still: one USD figure in this lineup has a source, US$59.99 for the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box reported August 23, 2024, and that is a secondary outlet, not a TPCi price sheet. The booster box figure is actively contradicted, US$121.99 against US$161, so this guide prints neither. The 18-pack Half Booster Box is sold by importers as a European configuration, unconfirmed officially.

Sealed compounded while the singles went the other way

Prismatic Evolutions launched ten weeks later, on January 17, 2025, sold out within hours and stayed scarce for months. The usual telling is that it buried this set. The sealed data says otherwise. In USD the booster box ran US$150–160 in December 2024, averaged US$204.58 through the Prismatic launch month — about +28% — ran up to US$235–250 in March 2025, with an all-time high of US$309.53, and was quoted at US$299.74 on July 25, 2026. The Elite Trainer Box went US$60–65 to US$80–85 over the same window and sits at US$123.52; the Pokémon Center box went from an eBay-sold US$70–75 on January 10, 2025 to a TCGplayer market price of US$286.94.

The singles did not follow. Pikachu ex 238/191 was quoted at US$442.02 in April 2025 against US$324.99 on July 25, 2026, roughly 26% below its 2025 peak in USD. That split is why the index needs reading carefully: it is computed from this set's six sealed products only, and the eight tracked singles are not members. Sealed re-rated upward; raw singles did not.

At 120.26 the set index is up 20.3% over three months and ranks third of the sixteen Scarlet & Violet sets, behind White Flare and Black Bolt. The seven-day tape is the other side of it: across all 14 tracked products the average move to July 25, 2026 is −3.2%, range −9.9% to +3.7%, the softest weekly average in the era against −0.90% across 222 products. The re-rating happened; the week-to-week tape is quiet. The era itself closed on September 26, 2025, when Mega Evolution replaced it as the current block.
