Pokémon TCG Paldea Evolved: Every Card, Chase Prices & Iono 269

Pokémon TCG: Scarlet & Violet—Paldea Evolved released 9 June 2023 with 279 cards — 193 main set plus 86 secret rares — the largest English expansion of the era's first half. It also shows sealed and singles moving in opposite directions more sharply than the base set before it: a booster box has gone from $84.00 at its December 2023 trough to $428.54 USD, +410% from that trough, while Iono 269/193 raw has gone from $127.50 in its launch month to $59.26, −54% from launch. Below: what actually bid sealed up, fourteen chase cards, three cards that break the pattern, and every product with live CAD prices.

Sealed ran. The chase card did not.

Figures here are USD and dated; CAD figures are live from Quaza Track. On PriceCharting's monthly series, read 25 July 2026, the booster box opened at $187.79 in its launch month of June 2023 — itself a presale spike — bottomed at $84.00 in December 2023, turned through 2025 ($199 in February, $343 in June, $402 in October) and set an all-time high of $490.00 in June 2026, reading $428.54 in July, 13% off that peak. That is +410% from the trough — the June peak was +483% above it — or +128% from the launch month; the baseline is the difference.

Iono 269/193 went the other way across the same window. Raw: $127.50 in June 2023, $46.40 at its January 2026 trough, $59.26 now. The marquee card is down 54% from its launch month while a box is up 410% from its trough. Whatever bid sealed up, it was not demand for the chase card. PriceCharting's monthly graded averages for it are contaminated by raw cards mis-listed as PSA 10, so no graded series is quoted here.

The evidence supports supply exhaustion plus the broad 2024–26 sealed bid. All six Pokémon Center Paldea Evolved SKUs were recorded OutOfStock in the 22 August 2024 Wayback crawl, and the display box was still unavailable at 11 December 2025; the inflection follows, clearest in January 2025 when the box went $148.72 to $202.51. The multiples agree: from 2023 retail to TCGplayer market on 25 July 2026, the Pokémon Center Elite Trainer Box is 9.91×, the standard Elite Trainer Box 4.31× on Target's $54.99 regular price and the box itself 3.07× — a market buying packs for their contents pushes the box hardest, and this one did the opposite. Print-run size is not published, so this is about supply running out, not about how much was made. Rotation did not dent it either: the box set its all-time high in June 2026, two months after Regulation G left in-person play.

The fourteen cards that carry the set

All numbers are out of 193. Raw and PSA 10 prices are USD observations from grld.gg on 25 July 2026, beside each card's gem rate — the share of its PSA submissions graded 10.

Two Illustration Rares outprice every Special Illustration Rare here, and the grading data is why. Maushold 226/193, by Mizue, gems at 13.0% and Tyranitar 222/193, by Nurikabe, at 18.1% on grld.gg — against 41.1% to 56.2% across the Special Illustration Rares. PriceCharting's mirror of the same PSA census, undated at source, reads 13.4% and 18.5% on populations of 3,161 and 10,095: one census read twice, not two sources agreeing. Either way its PSA 10 population is under 450 worldwide, which turns an $81 raw card into a four-figure slab: grld.gg quotes it at $1,327.50, a market observation, not a sale. Iono 269/193 is the most-graded here, 14,803 PSA submissions against CGC's 1,266, and PriceCharting and CGC both put its top-grade rate at 45.8% against grld.gg's 45.6% above.

Three cards that break the pattern

The main set runs 81 Commons, 70 Uncommons, 25 Rares and 17 Double Rares, all seventeen of them Pokémon ex. The 86 secrets are 36 Illustration Rares at 194–229, 26 Ultra Rares at 230–255, 15 Special Illustration Rares at 256–270 and 9 Hyper Rares at 271–279. Then the exceptions start.

Pikachu ex 063/193 has no secret-rare printing at all — no full art, no Special Illustration Rare, no gold. It is the only one of the seventeen main-set ex to appear exactly once, which makes the Double Rare the chase by default: 1,081 copies graded, a $3.19 raw card, a $61.50 PSA 10, and a 19.3× multiple, the highest in the set.

Tinkaton ex and Annihilape ex run the other way: neither has a main-set printing. Tinkaton ex exists only at 240 (Ultra Rare) and 262 (Special Illustration Rare), Annihilape ex only at 242. Bulbapedia records the Tinkaton card as coming from the Japanese Clay Burst expansion and being cut in localization, resurfacing weeks later as a Battle Deck promo. The arithmetic closes: seventeen main-set ex, sixteen with an Ultra Rare — all but Pikachu ex — plus those two with no Double Rare gives 18 Ultra Rare Pokémon ex, and with 8 Supporter full arts, 26.

What Paldea Evolved added

No new card class: Pokémon ex and Tera Pokémon ex both arrived in the base set, and the three Tera here — Forretress ex 005/193 and Slowking ex 086/193 by 5ban Graphics, Dedenne ex 093/193 by aky CG Works — carry the same rule, which prevents damage from attacks only and only while the Pokémon is on the Bench. What this set added is a Special Energy suite: four cards at 190–193, all Uncommon, none with a credited illustrator. Jet Energy switches a Benched Pokémon into the Active spot when attached to it from hand. Luminous Energy provides every type, one at a time, dropping to Colorless if another Special Energy is attached. Reversal Energy provides every type but only three Energy at a time, and only when you are behind on Prizes and it sits on an Evolution Pokémon with no Rule Box. Therapeutic Energy recovers the holder from Asleep, Confused and Paralyzed.

Two Stadiums tie into the treasures of ruin, both by AYUMI ODASHIMA, each punishing the type opposite its paired legendary: Calamitous Snowy Mountain 174/193 puts two damage counters on any Basic non-Water Pokémon receiving an Energy from hand, Calamitous Wasteland 175/193 adds a Colorless to every Basic non-Fighting Pokémon's Retreat Cost. Iono 185/193, by Sanosuke Sakuma, debuts here too: each player shuffles their hand to the bottom of their deck and draws one card per remaining Prize. It appears at 185, 254 and 269 — Sakuma again on 254, kirisAki on 269 — at very different prices, so the number matters. The set is this large because it merges three Japanese expansions — Triplet Beat, Snow Hazard and Clay Burst — plus two boxed products, and since Snow Hazard has no Fire or Lightning and Clay Burst no Water or Metal, it covers more types than either half.

Format status, and where the set sits in the era

Paldea Evolved is Regulation Mark G, so it left Standard on 10 April 2026 with the rest of the first year of the Scarlet & Violet Series — the Scarlet & Violet base set, this set, Obsidian Flames, 151, Paradox Rift and Paldean Fates. Announced 9 January 2026, effective in Pokémon TCG Live on 26 March; marks H, I, J and later remain legal and these cards stay Expanded-legal as of 25 July 2026.

On Quaza Track the set carries 13 products, 5 sealed and 8 singles, averaging −1.0% over the seven days to 25 July 2026, almost exactly the era-wide −0.90%. Its index reads 112.62, up 12.6% in three months, and covers sealed products only — the whole reason raw singles can be down while the index is up. In CAD the box at CA$702.68 is the second dearest booster box in the era behind Destined Rivals at CA$760.30, and 61% above the Scarlet & Violet base set box at CA$436.83.
