Ninja Spinner is the fourth expansion of Japan's MEGA series, released March 13, 2026 at 180円 a five-card pack, 30 packs to a box. It holds 120 cards, 83 in the main set plus 37 secrets. Despite the name it is not a ninja set: it is built on Mega Greninja ex, the Kalos first partner lines and the closing act of Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Its one Mega Ultra Rare, Mega Greninja ex 120/083 by takuyoa, has traded between 94,800円 and 148,000円 since launch. Below: the rarity ladder, twelve chase cards, a misprint nobody has covered, and how m4 became Chaos Rising.
What Ninja Spinner is actually about
The set is named for an attack, not a theme: ニンジャスピナー is printed on Mega Greninja ex 022/083, under the banner 「攻メ続ケロ! Reading it as a ninja tribe set misses the spine underneath, the Kalos first partners — all three lines run complete through the base set, ハリマロン / Chespin to ブリガロン / Chesnaught at 005 to 007, フォッコ / Fennekin to マフォクシー at 011 to 013, ケロマツ / Froakie to Mega Greninja ex at 020 to 022, and only one ends on a Mega. The second theme is the final act of Pokémon Legends: Z-A — Mega Floette ex, the アンジュフラエッテ Stadium, プリズムタワー / Prism Tower, AZの安らぎ and ゼルネアス.
The four Mega Evolution ex
Four メガシンカex appear, one per type, under the block's defining trade: knocking one out gives the opponent three Prize cards, not two.
| Card | No. | Type and Stage | HP | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| メガカエンジシex / Mega Pyroar ex | 015/083 | Fire · Stage 1 from Litleo | 340 | Keisuke Azuma |
| メガゲッコウガex / Mega Greninja ex | 022/083 | Water · Stage 2 from Frogadier | 350 | takuyoa |
| メガフラエッテex / Mega Floette ex | 035/083 | Psychic · Basic | 250 | aky CG Works |
| メガドラミドロex / Mega Dragalge ex | 063/083 | Dragon · Stage 1 from Skrelp | 330 | 5ban Graphics |
Mega Greninja ex pressures from two directions at once: its Ability 特性「ひっさつしゅりけん」 / Deadly Shuriken discards a Basic Water Energy from hand, once a turn while Active, to place six damage counters anywhere on the opponent's board, while the attack does 120, or 200 if you return an attached Water Energy. Mega Floette ex is the structural oddity, a Basic at 035/083 — rare for a Mega, and a consequence of being AZ's Eternal Flower Floette, with no pre-evolution to print. Mega Dragalge ex is the format police card, discarding every Tool and Special Energy the opponent holds for two Colorless. Mega Pyroar ex alone gets no SAR.
New Trainers, Stadiums and Special Energy
Cards 072 to 083 are all new: three Items, four Supporters, two Stadiums, three Special Energy. No new Pokémon Tool appears, which is odd beside Mega Dragalge ex being built to delete them.
| No. | Card | Class | Effect | Illustrator |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Special Red Card | Item | Opponent on 3 or fewer Prizes redraws 3. | Studio Bora Inc. |
Big Catch Net | Item | Recover 3 Water Pokémon and 3 Water Energy. | Toyste Beach |
Book of Transformation | Item | Play two at once; swaps a Basic in play for a discarded one. | Toyste Beach |
| 075 | AZの安らぎ / AZ's Tranquility | Supporter | Switch your Active; heal 80 on an ex. | GIDORA |
Philippe | Supporter | Attach 2 Metal Energy from the discard. | Souichirou Gunjima |
Roxie's Performance | Supporter | Poisoned Pokémon cannot retreat next turn. | Nobusawa/Mochipuyo |
Emma | Supporter | See their hand, draw one per Pokémon. | Akira Komayama |
Ange Floette | Stadium | Discard a Prism Tower; Mega Floette ex hits 400 HP. | MARINA Chikazawa |
Prism Tower | Stadium | Either player: discard 2, draw 1, once a turn. | MARINA Chikazawa |
The three Special Energy sit at Rare: 081 ニトロ炎エネルギー returns to hand if its own Pokémon's attack discards it, 082 バブル水エネルギー blocks all Special Conditions, 083 マグネット鋼エネルギー zeroes Retreat Cost.
変化の書 must be played as two copies at once for one effect, a cost found almost nowhere else in the game. アンジュフラエッテ is similar: a Stadium payable only by discarding a specific other Stadium already in play.
The chase cards
Twelve cards, with illustrator and フリマ相場 price, snkrdunk, July 9, 2026.

The main set is 38 Commons, 29 Uncommons, 8 Rares and 8 Double Rares. The 37 secrets run 084 to 120: 12 Art Rares, 18 Super Rares, 6 Special Art Rares, one Mega Ultra Rare. There is no UR tier — MUR replaced it across the block. Four Trainers exist only at SR, the 「グッズ枠SR」 goods slot guides call one guaranteed a box. Estimates put ARs at three a box and the MUR near one per 50, but TPC publishes no pull rates and snkrdunk calls its own figures a prediction.
What the market has done since March
Japanese price data comes in three forms that get quoted as one: 買取 is what a shop pays you, 販売価格 what a shop charges, フリマ相場 the collector marketplace rate. Everything below is labelled.
The third row stands out: a Colorless non-Mega at double the Mega SARs beneath it. Its 買取 sits 31% below the フリマ相場, mid-table rather than tightest — the SAR at 114 is 8% below and the MUR 27%, while the three cards under Cinccino run 35% to 40% below.
The MUR's own path is more instructive:
| Point | Date | MUR 120/083 | SAR 114/083 | Source |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 初動, launch | Mar 13, 2026 | ¥94,800 | ¥42,800 | pokesup |
| Roughly 30 days | ~Apr 12, 2026 | ¥148,000 | ¥49,800 | pokesup |
| Early July | Jul 9, 2026 | ¥110,000~ | ¥38,000~ | snkrdunk,
| Late July | ~Jul 25, 2026 | ¥94,800 | ¥32,800 | altema,
The MUR added roughly 56% in its first month, peaked near ¥148,000 in mid-April, then gave the gain back to −36% off peak. The SAR traced the same shape with less amplitude, up 16% then down to ¥32,800, below where it started. A plausible contributing factor is the English Chaos Rising release on May 22, putting the same artwork into a far larger, cheaper supply. Sealed boxes were quoted at ¥11,000 on July 9; no source publishes a box price series, so box movement since launch is unconfirmed.
The 94,800円 launch price and the 94,800円 late-July price match exactly, from two different sites. That may be coincidence, or one echoing the other, and the published data cannot separate them. Both are printed as sourced, but this is not a verified round trip back to launch: read the late-July figure as one shop's 販売価格 on one day.
The Golisopod erratum nobody covered
On May 29, 2026, over two months after release, The Pokémon Company published a notice titled Copies of グソクムシャ / Golisopod 026/083, illustrated by Takeshi Nakamura, shipped with the wrong body art: 「グソクムシャの胴体のラインについて、正しくは2本となります。」 — the lines should number two. The card stays legal including official tournaments, and no exchange is offered: 「本件に関する商品、カードの交換対応は承っておりません」.
It confirms an art error and declines a swap, but says nothing about corrected reprints — so there is no published basis for calling a copy an error variant, and no population split to price against. Compare the MEGA Dream ex texture-layer error of December 2025, where error copies trade at 10 to 20 times corrected ones: that market works because both states circulate. Here the second state is unconfirmed.

5 cards, tax included

30 packs, reported figure
*The 180円 pack price, five-card contents and release date are official; the 30-pack box and 5,400円 box price are not. Four sources report them consistently and 30 × ¥180 is ¥5,400 exactly, but TPC publishes neither. Six deck shield designs shipped the same day, though prices and SKU names could not be confirmed, and no starter deck or special set could be found. This is also one of the last 180円 expansions: a January 30, 2026 notice raised packs to 200円 and boxes to 6,000円 from May 2026, citing 原材料費の高騰.

How Ninja Spinner became Chaos Rising
Japanese sets feed the English schedule on a lag; m4's pool landed in Mega Evolution Chaos Rising on May 22, 2026. Chaos Rising runs 122 cards against the Japanese 120 and also contains Mega Gallade ex, absent from m4 entirely — so the m4 cards are included in Chaos Rising, but the two are not the same set. Its four featured Mega ex are exactly the four here, and Mega Greninja ex moves from 022/083 to 022/086. Pitch Black, July 17, is a different set built from m5 Abyss Eye.
Serebii's set list returns 157, reading the secrets-inclusive 120 as a base count and adding 37 on top; the arithmetic is 83 plus 37. And altema's prose names the flagship "Mega Gyarados", which is wrong — though its price tables, used above, agree with everyone else.

What is the most valuable Ninja Spinner card?
Mega Greninja ex 120/083, the only Mega Ultra Rare, by takuyoa. snkrdunk quoted ¥110,000 フリマ相場 on July 9, 2026 with 買取 at ¥80,000; altema listed ¥94,800 販売価格 in late July. Roughly one per 50 boxes. Next is SAR 114/083, ¥38,000.

No. Chaos Rising, released May 22, 2026, includes the Ninja Spinner cards, but at 122 cards it is larger than the Japanese 120 and adds material absent from m4, including Mega Gallade ex. Ninja Spinner does not feed Pitch Black, which comes from m5.

On May 29, 2026 The Pokémon Company published an official notice that Golisopod 026/083 shipped with incorrect artwork: the lines on its body should number two. The card stays legal including official tournaments, and no exchange is offered.
